May 20. 2017
Dear FLEPRU Members,
I hope everyone having a good year and are staying safe. This past year went by so quickly. Next thing you know, it’s time for our annual training conference in Orlando – November 7 – 9, 2017 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando.
FLEPRU continues to work on identifying legislation that needs to be changed and legislation that is presented by others that affect us as property crimes investigators. We are always looking for volunteers to assist with in our legislative efforts, locally and in Tallahassee. If you are able to assist, please call me or Greg Pollock.
Congratulations to this year’s award recipients.
Business Partner of the Year: Walgreens
Crime Analyst of the Year: Anthony “Tony” Florian, Broward County Sheriff’s Office
Investigator of the Year: Detective Mark Marland, St Petersburg Police Department
FLEPRU is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for our 2017 annual “Business Partner of the Year” award, “Crime Analyst of the Year” award, and “Investigator of the Year” award. Nominations must be received by October 1, 2017 to qualify. Please email your nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org. Recipients of the award will be recognized during the opening ceremony at our 2017 Annual Conference.
2017 Conference Fee:
FLEPRU realizes every agency is facing difficult times again this year due to budget cuts. We also recognize the importance of good training by experienced instructors. Therefore, FLEPRU will extend our offer to waive the conference tuition fee of a member’s immediate supervisor, if the member is attending. That’s a $175 savings!
The Rosen Plaza is offering our members a special discounted rate of $115 per night, plus taxes. Please be sure to make your hotel reservations early. The cutoff date for our room block is October 7, 2017. There are a limited number of rooms blocked.
In closing, I would encourage every member to be involved in FLEPRU as much as you can. Be sure to go on our website and sign up access to our member’s only page. It’s a great way to reach out to other FLEPRU members and share information. Remember……. If we stand together as one, there is more power in numbers when it comes to legislation, solving cases, etc.
